Tangkak is the principal town and capital of Tangkak District in Johor. This town nicknamed is "Fabric Town" or "Syurga Kain" in honour of its many textile shops. Tangkak is located in the north-western corner of the state of Johore, bordering Malacca by the Kesang River and was formerly the second largest town in the district of Muar.


1. Tangkak Kopitiam 



Tangkak Kopitiam serves Asian Fusion cuisine. Although this kopitiam is not an old name in Tangkak, but their menu is full, so that everyday can attract different customer come.

2. Restaurant Shi De Fu


Most of the Mee Hoon Kuey we eat are usually chicken soup, but the signature in this restaurant claypot style Tom Yam soup. They also provide Wan Tan Mee, Ais Kacang, Claypot Yee Mee, Tom Yam Yee Mee, Tom Yam Mee (Dry) and so on. This restaurant in Tangkak is very famous, so if you go to Tangkak can try it.

3. Kuang Fei Tangkak Beef Noodles




Kuang Fei restaurant brings most beef lovers to Tangkak and also takes the famous Tangkak beef noodles to people by opening branches in Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Kluang. Kuang Fei’s claim to fame is their beef brisket noodle soup.

4. Warong Roti Canai Terbang


There is a popular flying roti canai among the locals at Tangkak. This is very simple but tasty roti canai. Besides roti canai, they also serves a variety of food such as nasi lemak bungkus, mee bungkus, soto kambing, soto ayam, mee rebus Jawa, mee sup, laksa Penang, mee goreng, nasi goreng Cina and so on.

6. Gunung Ledang

With the height of 1,276 metres, Gunung Ledang is the heighest mountain in southern Peninsular of Malaysia. Located in the District of Ledang, Johor, this mountain commenced its operations in July 2003 and had been gazetted as a Johor National Park on 3 october 2005.



There is a legend in this mountain. Popularly known for the legend of Puteri Gunung Ledang, whereby a beautiful princess becomes a fairy and made her home here in 400BC. This mountain was visited by Alfred Russel Wallace, a contemporary of Charles Darwin and a fellow originator of the theory of evolution, in 1854. He recorded the presence of diverse types of flora and fauna and it was noted that he fell under the spell of its hypnotic beauty.

Mountain climbers will experience a refreshing challenge and a test of stamina and visitors will have plenty to explore as they make their way up to the summit that is shaped like bow of a ship.
