The Batu Pahat District is a district in the state of Johor, Malaysia. This might be a small place, and not even known by foreign travellers, but it really have speciality on their food and places. Batu Pahat is really a nice place for short vacation on weekends, and thus, is low budget too. 

With more than 350 Taoist temples, Batu Pahat is the district with the most temples in Johor. These old temples stand the test of time.

1. Batu Pahat Chong Long Gong





Address: 81, Kampung Segenting, Batu Pahat, 83030 Bandar Penggaram, Johor

  • At this oldest temple, you can Touch the Prosperity fish 
  • Which called “Arapaimas Fish”
If you tends to get to touch these fishes, there are rumors saying that, touching of these arapaima fishes would bring good luck to the person. 


2. Get a walk to the end of the Lover Bridge



Lover bridge is a bridge that build on the sea, rumours say that couples who walk till the end of the bridge willl have thir love last forever. 

- But in my opinion I think that the bridge is only enough for two person to walk through, and it doesn’t have any hand support beside, forcing you to walk through it holding hands with your partner.



*P.S: It is just freaking us out to walk until the end for this take, hands shaking T.T


3. Old Street Commercial Centre 



Old Street Comercial Centre is a brand new leisure shopping area. It has a retro style of building. It contains restaurant, entertainment, gym and shopping area. You can imagine you are in the late 70’s of Shanghai especially at night.

4. Han Kee Cake & Café




This is the one of the most popular place for breakfast in Batu Pahat, it does not only attract Chinese customers, and even Malay customers. This is a HALAL restaurant, it's main course is:
  • Bread
  • Egg otak bread
  • Fried mee hoon
  • Nasi lemak that is wrapped in banana leaves

4. Kedai Makan Soon Lai



You cannot miss out this 60 years history shop when you comes to Batu Pahat! Kway refers to the flat rice sheets cut into squares and chap refers to the soup. Its soup has been compared to bak kut teh, another Malaysian favourite, but kway chap is more savoury and uses less herbs. It is serve with Pork’s belly, intestine, and any other parts you can think

6. Swimming Pool Steamboat 



Seeking any meals for dinner? Suggestes this swimming pool steamboatst Batu Pahat. It is called Swimming Pool Steamboat is because the steamboat shop is beside a swimming pool. Besides, this steamboat shop nears the Chong Long temple, you can have a dinner here after you visit the temple. 




The price of the steamboat food is charged according the colour of plates.
